Ehi, Linden, what are you doing?

You must understand thet we need a version simple and firm, stabile.
We don't want complicated things like voice or something other that grows the lag there.
It is so difficult to understand that we prefer a stabile play to a wonderful crash?
Tonight i am totally upset....but what are you doing there?
I had 40 crashes
Teleport does not work and stucks...so it crashes continuously.
Suddenly black video and again crash.....
Money did not work.....a continue loading...
Search did not work....
Many textures never work and we see grey avatars....
Map does not work......

uffffffffffff i am starting to considerate to leave this program.

thank you if yow finally want to listen our needs. Stop to work at new things any put this in order....please.

Would vanishing (expensive) objects fall under this as well?
I've been placing various items on my land, then either used "take" or "return".

After that, the items are completely vanished. No trace on land (used an object scanner) and not a clue in the inventory either. I've browsed through ALL my items numerous times, nothing.

I know I'm not alone, but here do these vanishing items go? And also important, where did my L$22000 go that I paid for these objects?

I'm losing money on this.. More that I feel is comfortable..

Its fair to say, SL shouldn't be considered a bank vault. I never leave that much 'money' on a character, just in case the plug is pulled tomorrow, I draw it out of game onto the very CC I use to buy Lindens with. Its far safer there.

Try clearing the cache (not using the one in preferences), go to 'C:/Documents and Settings/<your PC sign in name here>/Applications/SecondLife and wipe all those folders. Restart your pc and log in game. So often having a corrupt file in your cache, can make SL hang, while the system looks for that file on it's system, or the cache hangs. Be aware though, deleting the HD cache, when you log back in, SL will refresh your cache but.. you will now be seen by the system as a newcomer, although all your stuff will be there (as its not held on your cache, but on the LL servers), you will get PopUp boxes telling you how to move in sl etc... only lasts a short while fortunately.

How do you do that with all the objects you've bought to prevent loosing them?
That's my problem, things are vanished, I've cleared out every file and setting from my computer, the things are still not coming back to me.

You don't... I was refering to the 20,000L$.. not objects, they are vapourware and not to be relied upon.. LL state that you do not have legal recourse rights to objects created within the VR environment.

open a bug report and hope for the best - I had some issues like yours (though I considered them fixed in the current release), and filed bug reports about when and where, and miraculously the things (well, most of them) reappeared around my house. So there are obviously means to recover them - alas, I never got a reply on my reports, so I don't really know what was done to resolve it.

It was objects and items I've bought for a total sum of about L$20000, not cash. I haven't lost a single L$ from my "wallet".

Anyway, items I pay for "should" stay where I put them, I know the rules and that we cannot rely on them to stay, but it's still a very annoying thing...

Funny enough, no items I have in my inventory has ever disappeared, it's been items placed on my mainland plot that mysteriously vanish. During the last week I've lost 11 of them.


I've posted both bug reports and support e-mails for every item I've lost, so maybe they'll show up as yours did. I certainly hope so....

I would have to agree.. I think the last stable version I can recall was version 1.6. Ever since things have gotten worse and worse. And now you want to add voice chat into the game? SL sucks up enough bandwidth as it is.. I will be sticking with Skype or other applications personally.

Work on the bugs.. clean up the game so it runs without so many issues.. and you will make the players much more happy then trying to add in new things constantly.

There is a misconception here about voice. It is the same with all media in SL. LL don't host any media, the client has pipelines for outsourced media to be rendered, which is seperate bandwidth from the 'game'. Voice will be hosted via a third party (not unlike skype), with the pipelines openned up in the client.
If you want to watch/listen to media in SL, you must not open up the bandwidth throttle ingame. All this will do is give a greater priority to the game and less for additional bandwidth needed by the OS to stream the media.
