And all sit scripts, for that matter. And if you don't have permission to reset them, like in the case of a Dominus Shadow, you're pretty much screwed.

Way to go, Linden Labs, way to go. Once again your "push the shit through no matter how buggy it is" approach to programming has paid off.

I am reminded of the vending machines here at school....
Not only is everything in them complete and utter CRAP, but when an item runs out (meaning people are willing to pay for it) not only is it not replaced, but something even worse goes in............

well this makes my heart all warm and fuzzy since I purchased one as a gift. Haven't tested it as the person who it was bought for hasn't been online after update today.

One expensive update when these cars are concerned.

I went to both previews, and drove the shadow, had no issues. Never been in the live update yet, as is down.

BUT maybe more people should go in there and test instead of screaming after? It is open for anyone to try (except the very new people), so take a few minutes and login and test was you normally do, and report any bug.

That would make sure it gets fix, and save this from happening after. I think maybe 10% (maybe) have looked in preview, but 90% scream on update days..heh

Going to check out my Dominus Shadow when I'm back in, as well as the Senecio.

Without anger or disrespect, but do you think this is a bit premature to post since you've said yourself that you've not tried the Shadow on the main grid yet?

hrmmmm :)

Good luck with it when you do, and I hope it's zooming your happy little avi around like it should be :)

For the record, this post has nothing to do with preview at all. I, for one, check out every new update in preview. I'm sure most do since Preview is a pretty hopping place at times.

Michael, I drove my Shadow in both previews, too. Which is why I'm really pissed off now. Because LL is obviously pushing code through that was not tested on preview grid. Sit scripts? Worked on the preview grid.

Before the grid went down, when you try to sit in a Shadow, you sit on top of it, off the door, on the truck, the window, etc, hmm... just as if all the sit scripts in it were ... wha? ... broken.

Scripts in a Shadow cannot be reset by their owner because the whole thing is no-mod.

Wasn't this a sim issue.. and not the scripts themselves?
07-19-2006 16:18
I logged in today, went to the blue note and was sent an IM saying that all sit scripts were fubarred...as were flame scripts

And so I sat down on my chair with a scripted pose in it.. and looked at my candle with a flame script in it and all was well in Mocis today. No problems whatsoever. Then I heard it was only certain sims.

Sounds like it had more to do with the grid than the objects themselves, so all may not be lost just yet.

Hi everyone :)

I've just tested - after a very quick look, it appears that both the 1.x and the 2.0 Dominus Shadows are working properly.

(Phew, gave me a mini heart-attack after I saw this thread)

Thanks to everyone who tested on the preview grids, and on the maingrid, and LL for (hopefully) fixing this one so quick.

I'll post again here if I learn anything new to share. If anyone sees any Dominus Shadow bugs, new or old, please report them to me. Thanks!

Francis, they are working now, after the extended downtime. When the grid came back up initially, they weren't working. See the numerous threads about sit-scripts being broken.

I'm relieved they are working, though! Whew.

Thanks Aaron :)

I've taken a closer look, and it *does* seem like everything's working. It's kind of a relief, the Dominus Shadow hasn't had the greatest luck with SL updates. Some fun exerpts from the changelogs:

v.1.1.14g
- Reengineered animation system to reflect the new SL1.9 animation semantics

v.1.1.14h
- Patch to fix permissions change between SLv1.9 and 1.9 preview (new flaw introduced by 1.9.0(15))

v.1.1.15d
- Patch that fixes extra error message, introduced by a new flaw in how permissions are implemented in Second Life 1.9.0 (18), that fixes a flaw introduced in Second Life 1.9.0(15).

Okay, looks like I spoke a bit two soon, I've noticed two bugs introduced by SL 1.11:

1) Dialog buttons are now truncated. Sometimes to 9, 10, or 11 characters. Previous versions of SL truncated after 12 character buttons.

2) Beta version 2.0 Shadows only: Duplicate events cause you to shift to 3rd gear for no reason after a sim crossing.

Both have be bug reported, awaiting an answer from LL on how to proceed.

In my message all I said is that I tested them in preview and they worked fine. And said that more people should go to preview, so I don't see how that is premature at all, as I never said they worked fine, I just said above and mention I have not tested in maingrid yet.

The first thing I tried with SL reopened was the shadow and it worked great, until you cross a border, so happy that they are not 100% broken, just seemed to have a border crossing issue, which I bug reported.
