So far the login takes forever, ive crashed a few times, lag is really bad, I can't attach attatchments well...and right now I tried to teleport somewhere and am stuck in the tp menu.... This barely started today...for me, some of it last night but not this bad. Whats going on lindens? I cleared everything and started fresh, still nothing. Damnut Im also pissed  |

These kinds of issues seem to crop up everytime a major patch is about to be introduced.

I am, starting around 1:00 pm Pacific time I started crashing. Now I either don't get past the login screen or immediately crash when I do get logged in. I too have done a cleanup and tried a few other things but still can't play. I've never had it this bad in over a year of playing SL but I have heard of it happening to others. So frustrating.

I logged in a few minutes ago and it worked fine. You might want to list your hardware to see if there is a pattern. For example if everyone having problems has an ATI 9800 or Nvidia 5500 it could narrow it down. I am seeing a lot of these sorts of posts lately.

Im not sure if its anything to do with the next version as thats weeks away most likely, its propbably more about their being 3,000 online and they are trying to do their normal activities, where the logathons have been just like gatherings and parties, now people are logging in and out as normal, teleporting everywhere, shopping doing their normal activities not worried about been booted for the sake of loosing the prize, and since last time we probably got 10,000 more users. I feel the asset server starting to burn again

Appolo branded nVidia Geforce FX 5200 (They call it the Bloody Monstor 3 on the box, then claim it doesn't exist on their website) with fresh drivers from today, fresh SL installation from today, downloaded fresh and everything, AMD Athlon XP 2000+, MSI KT4V Motherboard, 3Com EthernetXL lan card, and both 'heads' on the video card in use... single head mode, and dual head mode, it crashes right when verifying network protocol, for me.
This just started this morning too, hasn't been happening at all yesterday. I read somewhere that bad memory can cause it, but I just did a memtest 3 days ago, completely successfully.
I haven't tried playing anything else yet though, but... this looks pretty grim right now... and I can see that some of my friends are online right now too...

Huge lag, ( of the freezing kind ), crashing frequently. takes ages to log on ( can't log on at all atm ) and like you it started last night .

True, but if this were the case, why is SL completely forgetting all of the settings I set before the window closes? It doesn't even think it's crashing, it just closes during login.

Happening to me too... I could get on fine earlier today, then started having problems about half an hour to an hour ago. Clothes, etc. in inventory wouldn't load when I put them on, everything was ultraslow. Thought I'd relog to clear up the problem... but I can't relog. Every time I try, it sticks at 'connecting to region.' The most recent time I tried, it sat there for at least five minutes (probably more) failing to connect before I got impatient and quit. So frustrating... whatever issue the server is having, I hope it gets fixed soon.

My problem seems to be with my parcel. I had to force log in ahern about 4 times trying to find out what keeps crashing me on my land. After taking all the media back into inventory but still crashing as soon as I go home I edited preferences to not play music and video and now I'm fine.
If you want to try logging in at ahern to see if you can get in that way do this:
Start/run/secondlife://ahern/128/128

Ok im tired of it i cant do anything. I change avatars and it doesnt want to change back. So bleh...apparently they are having problems right now with that on the announcements. I hope they inform us of when its fixed.

hmm.... wasn't there something in the revised TOS about credit when SL is down? But I'm sure that was cancelled out by some contractual idemnification following the original statement... lol
