Avatar Malfunctioning

My avatar seems to be disfigured. My thighs on the backside come to a point where they should be rounded. My shoulders are also spiky along with the back of the upper arm. My eyes, and those of fellow gamers, seem to be missing. No prim.. just an empty spot that allows one to look inside the skull.

I've asked live help, they seem to be busy with other things. I haven't logged onto SL since April, so many things have changed and there are a LOT of things I'm affraid to do for fear it will mess up the game for me even more.

Any suggestions on what I can do? I've also included a picture of what my avatar looks like to me. Some people see it, others see me just fine.

There's an option somewhere in the video settings called something like "Avatar Vertex Program."

Try disabling it. On one of my computers, that option made avie colors go all green and yellow if your camera was close to them, but I've heard that some people have the issue that you describe; the avatar shape is distorted.

I actually had that problem with the green and yellow. I turned the lighting to Sun and Moon rather than Surrounding Lights or something like that... i hope this works...
