I'm begging you to please fix the following bugs, which have made second life more frustrating to use:
1) The latest version of the client seem to eat up memory. I've had my computer slow to a crawl and the hard drive "thrash" while using SL, and when a lot of particles appear and activity is happening, my computer crashes (one of my dual monitors goes blank and the computer slows to a crawl/freezes, and i have to reboot) .. also, sometimes when I quit SL, I still see the process running in the Windows XP process manager.
2) Water no longer appears. I mean the water people add to some areas.. I don't know if its a special kind of water, but you can see this type of water in sims like "The Wild", and "Carnage Island". You teleport to the sim and where the water used to be, you just see a pit/hole where the water was. You have to go to the "World" menu and select" Region/Estate" for a moment to get the water to be drawn again. This is frustrating!
3) Teleporting problems. Its like the hand of God (or Satan?) strikes us SL users at random and curses us with not being able to teleport anywhere for a while, and were stuck in the sim were in, or not even able to log into SL, and those of us with no home set end up dumped onto linden land (like the patch of LL land at Braunworth) ... its agonizing because the work-arounds like teleporting to the mainland or taking off attachments does not often work. . I just wish you would fix this problem, very very much.
4) Inventory. Whenever the inventory window is closed, and then opened again, random folders are open, and we need to "Close All Folders" again. It's also amazingly frustrating to move an item from one part of a huge inventory to another. Here is a solution:
Basically, we should have an option in our Preferences:
a) have all inventory folders default as closed every time we re-open the Inventory window ..
b) have the last folders opened default as still opened when we re-open the inventory window. Under no circumstances should the inventory folders be opened based on any OTHER criteria when we open the inventory window. It's just too frustrating. Also we should have the following feature added:
Please have a new window/dialog box with 10 text line spaces, plus at the bottom the word "Inventory". Basically we can drag folders in our inventory into this list, and then the name of the folder we dragged will take a spot on the list, which can hold a maximum of 10 folder names (plus the 11th row at the bottom which would be the word "Inventory".) .. basically we can then click one of the folder names on this list and it will highlight. This will be the name of the folder that all items we then are given or pick up end up in (Selecting "Inventory" makes new items go to the original default location, like Clothing or Objects). It will also be the case that we can go through our inventory and click on the name of an item and it will instantly be moved to the folder that is the highlighted folder name in this new window. This will make life much easier for inventory management on second life.
Ultimately I believe that Inventory, Friends list, and Group member should be handled by in-game Personal Data Assistant (PDA) devices which can be programmed and will do complicated data management and organization. We should be able to buy these devices in stores on SL (this will stimulate the economy as well) and they should be programmable like real-world PDAs. Whenever we wanted to use them, our avatar would hold the PDA up and the camera would zoom in on it, and this way, other people could see whenever we were busy chatting with someone on our buddy list or re-arranging Friend List, Inventory, or Group related information or conversations.
