Bandwidth problems?

Hi,

Recently Ihave been having problems with sl.

Of the two little bars in the upper right of the screen, the one on the right is almost always red or yellow for me now, and I am experiencing a lot of lag.

Sometimes I press the forward button and have to wait up to 15 seconds before the avatar moves. I own a load of vehicles and cant use any of them now.

The statistics monitor has the bandwidth bouncing around, averaging about 400k. Yet the bandwidth bar is in the red, and the lag is terrible.

I have a 512k connection, 1Gb ram, AMD athlon 2.2 Ghz cpu, and a radeon X800 GPU.

What settings should I have the network settings set at?

Should I set the maximum bandwidth at 500? Or is it supposed to be set at the upload limit? Which I am sure is lower than 512 but I dont know by how much.

What should I set the disk cache size to?

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I'm seeing the same thing, it appears the problem is packet loss, but I have no explanation for why. It seems to have started with the latest release.

Pretty much makes SL unplayable.

Hmm. i am getting very little packet loss, according to the statistics monitor.

Though I cant remember when my problem started.

Is there a faq or site that explains the graphics options?
