Is there any way to prevent people viewing you on your land if they disable camera constraints.
I had an incident last week and I was trying to find the offender by returning the favour and looking for him.
I could see the land but nothing on it

I could see the land but nothing on it Just barren landscape? You probably haven't downloaded all the objects and such from the sim then.. Move closer to the area you're looking at. _____________________

I was thinking the same, that it will only show objects you have already seen.
What I didn't understand is why I couldn't see the avatars |

Were you looking into a different sim? I've seen it do that before...

You'll always see the heightmap for the sim you're in (and a neighbouring one(s) if you're close enough), but if where you're camming to is farther away than your draw distance all you'll see is the land surface (and pieces of things at the edge if the root prims of the rest happen to fall outside your draw distance).
Prims below a certain size always get culled as well (if an avie isn't sitting on it) and it's based on distance to your avie, not distance to the camera (rez a small prim, then walk away from it backwards and you'll simply see it *poof* at one point, camming back will show you everything there except that prim). |

change your draw distance in the graphics settings.. the higher the draw the further you see. Of course this has to be balanced as the higher it is the more that has to load up everytime you move somewhere
