Vista- ATI Cat 7.3 + SL Worked, Reformat + Cat 7.4 Doesn't?

Okay, so I was forced to reinstall Windows yesterday, I was messing around with stuff, and completely ruined Windows (and I don't use System Restore either).

After that, I installed the new ATI 7.4 drivers, released yesterday, and just tried to run SL with them. It detects hardware, etc, and then crashes before it reaches the login screen (and yes, I tried it with the -noaudio fix for other ATI cards, but it didn't help.)

When it does happen, it pops up an error which says "The Display Driver has stopped responding." Is anyone else having this problem?

This is with an ATI x800XL AGP.

This is something we will see a lot of as the drivers become mature for vista, we will lose comparability with games and/or applications that don't keep up! The whole insides of vista has been reworked and it will take a bit of time for everyone to get on the same page. So if you want to play SL, you will have to use the 7.3 drivers as the 7.4 has rendered SL broke!
