Bug of the Day - Logout

Hehe.. think logins are broken, well apperently logout are too.

I logged out about an hour ago, just tried login in.. apperently I need to wait 5 more minutes before I finnally finished logging out.

Definately something you might want to look into.

(Edit) 5 minutes later.. please wait 5 more minutes.. this is just awesome. Never since I joined SL in '03 has it been this bad. Beta ran better then this, it sure as hell crashed less often too.

So it happened again, kinda. Crashed out of SL, and clicking login.. told me wait 5 minutes. Decided to go make dinner instead. Now I'm trying to log in, 40 minutes later, and I'm being told that the sim is still logging me off.

This is stupid.

(Edit) Bet you can't guess what happened after those 5 minutes were up.. honestly tho, I don't think the lindens even read these posts.

And so it continues...

Right now I'm on on an alt, staring at myself in a sim I did not log out in, but crashed in at a much earlier point in the night. Also, I seem to be wearing the same attachments that I was wearing then, and not those that I logged out in.

It seems that for some reason, when I crashed out last, the servers decided that its a much earlier time in the day, and reset me to that.

What does this mean.. well.. it means I get to wait, hopefully not indefinately, for a reply from Help Request, so far I had one very nice non-linden ask me whether or not I was posting this request for help from an alt, and then when I made it clear that yes.. this was not the char that was stuck on the login screeen being told repeatedly to wait 5 more minutes, she recommended I wait for a linden.

This is turning into a blog... great.

This problem has been reported a bunch of times over the last few weeks..

I think people have said that trying to IM or maybe offering a TP to the stuck login will cause the server to figure out that it should be gone.. If that doesn't work, try contacting Live Help and asking them to give it the boot.

Also, just curious, do you have an anti-AFK script running?

Nope, and I tried both of those a lot earlier. First thing I did was message myself. Nothing happened. I'm not a ghost, cause I am solid.. I can push myself around, but I'm also not cycling thru my anims... I'm just stuck on the same one, so it doesn't seem like anything is running script wise on my character.

As for HR, I messaged them an hour ago, I'm still waiting for an actual linden to reply, and well.. my opinion of SL is rapidly sinking by the minute. I can't log off, because well.. that'll just remove my ticket it seems.. and I can't really go anywhere, because chances are good I'll crash, which counts as a logout.. and I believe removes your ticket to. Soo.. just stuck here staring at myself.

Tried a -login shortcuit, that 5 min thing isnt working at all you can still just ignore it ; p

create a new SL shortcuit, add -login firstname lastname password , and dont click a thing even if it says "logging you out right now" puh , always works for me tho, even if it says that i can get in within <30sec

Second way is to have someone msg you ingame and youll got "offline" and usually able to log then (hello more alts)

I believe there is an easier way. I had someone offer "Friend" and that seemed to wake SL up to the issue and it logged me (and two other stuck friends) out. Sending multiple IMs and TP offers had had no effect. The original problem seems to have been a regional glitch.

The next thing I was going to try was giving inventory to my stuck AV.

Other methods you could try is either to message the owner of the sim to have it rebooted. Failing that, with the use of a friend or ALT, try pushing your main AV out across sim boundary to a neighboring sim.
