I have been getting a "Parcel is full" error, when my parcel definitely as NOT full. Like I am trying to rez just a couple of pose balls, and the parcel has nearly 100 prims free.

It's sporadic...

Altitude and specific parcel doesn't seem to matter. I have had it happen in a group-owned skybox over group land at 500 M, and in a basement under my home, in a pit below the general ground level.

Position in the parcel does seem to have some effect. For example, I was able to rez a scripted bed in my 'basement', but then when I tried to get the bed to rez a set of pose balls, it failed with that "parcel is full" error. I checked the 'About Land', and I had 93 prims free... I took the bed back into inventory and tried a scripted chair. Same problem - it couldn't rez the pose balls. Took it back, and scraiched my Player's head a minute...

So I went up two floors, and tried my primary scripted bed. That one worked fine.

One of the people I share the parcel with reported to me that he has had a similar problem attempting to rez a 3-prim item to work on it. Nothing scripted or convoluted - just a couple of hair braids and a feather in one of the braids. 3 relatively simple prims. Yet he could rez some other things just fine.

Strange...

Guess we will see if the new release today resolves it... I hope so.

Hi Ceera,

I feel your pain. The same happens to me as well. Guess we'll just have to keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best with the new version. =)

Asshat server I suspect - sadly the update is unlikely to fix it. :(

Yeah, it's likely an asset server issue.

So far, it's mostly been just annoying. Like the error that says that it "Failed to place an object at the specified location" when taking something out of inventory.

Most of the time, I just go do something else, and later, everything is fine again...

No rhyme or reason to it...

I'm just glad it's infrequent.

There is a thread in Scripting Tips that might be the same thing: /54/77/106618/1.html

Here's my post from that thread that explains what's happening: /54/77/106618/1.html#post1037781

If this isn't the problem, then I say submit a bug report whenever it happens.

I run into it all the time trying to put on fireworks displays. I leave a few hundred prims free for the display, never use more than about 50 prims during each section, but if I don't wait for the server to figure out that those prims are gone, by about the third or fourth segment, it will start to give me parcel full errors. I usually end up putting in waits in the fireworks scripts, it's not the best solution, but it helps.

I don't think it's a failure of the asset server to release removed prim count promptly, in my case.

In at least one reported instance, the fellow who was trying to adjust those hair braids had just logged on, and was the only one on the parcel. He wasn't rezzing lots of stuff. The parcel had almost 100 prims free, but wouldn't let him rez a 3-prim set of hair braids.

In another, I'm sure that the person I was with and I hadn't rezzed anything vaguely close to 30 prims, let alone over 90, in the time before it failed on us as we tried to rez some pose balls.

Certainly sounds like a different problem then. Does this only happen in a certain sim, or has it happened elsewhere? Either way I'd recommending sending a bug report each time it happens. If you can reproduce it regularly, contact Live Help and see if a Linden can come and watch it happen themselves.

The sim itself isn't near full is it? I have seen that happen, although you have 100 available prims, a 1500 prim hoochie hairdo or hundreds of self-replicating "My Little Pony" pets gone wrong can suck up your prims even though it says they are available.

The "Can not place object here" thing usually occure for me when I try to rez on a non-horizontal surface. Ususally when I think I've clicked on the floor but it ends up actually being on a wall or in mid air.
