.....do I get 30-45 second egg timer pauses (sometimes unfortunately longer).
This has gone on now for over 1 month, I thought this issue would have been dealt with by now.
I use many other network applications on my pc, and I don't get these pauses with them.
Read that they were looking into this somewhere, but as yet I haven't seen any improvement...just getting worse actually! If there is no improvement I will definately be pulling out on the sub.
Thanks

Have you put in a support ticket yet? Not that that will get you much further, but I have no real clue as to the problem. Could be one of many things.

30-second or so viewer freezes (or "stalls" are a well-known issue with the voice viewer on some machines. The JIRA bug for this is VWR-2051 "Regular viewer freezes since update to Voice viewer"; it is still open and critical. I would suggest you go vote for it, but last time I suggested that I got crucified You might want to try Nicholaz's viewer - I know he has been doing work in this area. However, it appears there may be more than one cause, so while it's worth a shot it may not be a silver bullet. You could try either his version of the current release candidate, or even downgrade all the way to his pre-voice version. Doing the latter should definitely take care of the problem. To the best of my knowledge, Nick's is the only pre-voice version left that will run on the grid (he hacked the version numbers). http://nicholaz-beresford.blogspot.com/
