ok i dont know if this is the right place to post this but here i go anyway!!!
i downloaded the setup and installed and ran the program and everything is black!!!
please help!!!

Are you saying even the First Name/Last Name/Password boxes aren't showing? Sometimes when the SL client starts (before you first log in) you'll get a black page... but you should still be log in. If you're not even able to type in your username, I don't know what could be causing that.

i see the boxs but not my typeing i can type my name and stuff but i dont see the typing and after i do that a another box in the middle shows up but eberything in that box is black and the screen behind it is black too!!

I would try a full reboot of my system. Then if that didn't fix it, I'd make sure my graphics drivers were up to date.

What video card do you have (or is it built into your motherboard; is your computer a laptop)?

Great, I assume you mean nvidia GeForce4.
Are you using Windows XP or Windows 2000?

If you are...

Could you provide a bit more information about model it is?
It will be something like nvidia GeForce4 MX 123 or Nvidia GeForce4 TI 1234

I've done a quick search, you aren't the only person who has had problems with an integrated Geforce4 MX. You may need to get a new video card. It doesn't have to be the top of the line, you can buy a good midrange card in the 50$ range (I can't really help you with that).

Ok the next question is a tough one:
How much Video Memory?

To find this out, right click on your desktop and select "Properties" at the bottom of the menu.
Select the "Settings" Tab
Click the "Advanced" button

Click on the "Geforce4 ..." tab
In the that tab click the "Classic NVIDIA Control Panel" radio button
Click "Apply"

In the tree in the side window click the topmost item "GeForce4 ..." item
Now in the tab that is displayed, tell use what is in the memory line.
(see attached image, i've circled the number to be reported)
