I wonder if any of you can make sense of this issue. A friend asked me to help her with it last night, and after an hour, I was still dumbfounded. 1) She has a "Tribal Kimono" from B&R. Has worn it many times and loves it. The whole outfit is formed from many individual pieces -- including a shirt. 2) This week she bought some cheap hair from Panache that came with a free t-shirt. The t-shirt design shows "the finger" gesture. (Ie. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_finger.) 3) Since she wore that t-shirt (2), the shirt part of the "tribal kimono" (1) now appears to "be" that t-shirt (2) with the flip/finger design. Whenever she puts on the "tribal kimono shirt", it appears to be "worn" in the inventory, but the flip/finger t-shirt appears on her body. She actually deleted the flip/finger t-shirt a couple of days ago hoping it would resolve the problem. It didn't. **Initially I thought "go into Edit > Appearance" -- it's just not rezzing. But no, she even removed all clothes and put the "tribal kimono shirt" on, to no avail. The flip/finger t-shirt stll appeared to be on her body. **The tribal kimono vendor was good, providing her with a second copy of the goods. But same problem exists. She transfered the second copy to me, but the kimono renders fine when I wear it. I even went to Panache, and bought the t-shirt and hair to put her mind at rest that a script in a hair piece wasn't responsible...and again...after a bout as a cross-dresser , all clothes appeared predictably -- correctly -- on my avatar. Any ideas?

My guess is an inventory glitch specific to her avatar. It's possible that the key attached to the Kimono got mangled and pointed to the finger shirt.
If the above is the case, only LL people can fix it. Given that they revamped how inventory works, it may be a glitch related to the changes.

I have heard about this same issue from other people as well.
As for me.....I am missing about 2/3 of my inventory as of this morning. And of course its all the nice stuff, most of the clothes I purchased.
I still have plenty of random boards / prims / junk in there. but most of my clothes are gone, even what I was wearing just last night.
I had it all last night, this morning, its not there.
I am going to relog and try live help.

The thing is....the clothes still exist. She gave them to me, I cross-dressed , they appeared fine on my AV. I returned them, she put them on...the old, deleted t-shirt appeared on her AV instead. Weird. Thanks for the responses both of you. I've told her to uninstall/reinstall SL after reading about how one person's inventory crisis was resolved in another thread, if that fails, she'll contact LL. /getting paranoid about my own inventory after some recent forum stories. If my skin, shape, clothes, etc. went missing and couldn't be returned...I think I'd just give up on SL. I can't justify flushing so much money down the pan...and certainly wouldn't risk spending it all again. SL is only *so* important to me.

Definitely try clearing the cache, too. Under Preferences->Network

I've seen this problem on a friend's computer. It was fixed by upgrading all the graphics drivers on her PC.

I've seen a similar problem with one of my avatar shapes. It keeps getting borked to the Female version (only some other numbers get fucked up too). I had to apply for a replacement twice (and then I made a copy for backup). Oddly, the backup got borked too until I relogged and everything was fine.

Try going into the debug menu, debug-character-rebake textures and see if that fixes the problem. I suspect it will.
