Online/Offline Status Not Updating/Correct

I've noticed, even prior to the 1.10.xx releases, that people on my friends list are not showing up as online even when they are, and ims do not get through to them (the sender gets the standard offline reply).

additionally, people who go offline still show up as online on my friends list, and their status does not change until i relog. im's also get the standard offline reply, but do not appear to get delivered.

i know many of my friends notice the same behavior, does anybody have any ideas?

I've seen the same thing. I especially like seeing a friend pop on and off every time I send them an IM...
