Here I go, back to the griller...

I've noticed that after some bit of lag, my avie sometimes sinks into the ground, almost as if collision isn't working. Okay... so lag betters itself, and my avie isn't sunken, but now he stands in an awkward fashon, as if he was clutching or squatting. Okay... it's not like it's killing anyone, but that takes away the little style my avie actually has... and it isn't client side because others can see it. And it's not only me, since I've seen it happen to others. The only way to fix it is through reloging, since I've tried overriding animations and stuff like that. Once I stop any other animation, (waist down animation, that is) I clutch again... ARRRGGHH!!! Damn clutching!

This is a long-standing bug, and as far as I know, has nothing to do with lag.

To fix it, sit on something, then stand up again. On those very rare cases where this doesn't fix the "bent knees" look, try going into appearance edit mode for a moment. (I haven't needed to do that ina long time, but I have to do the sit on a prim trick at least once a week.)

LL is currently in bug-squish mode, so make sure you mention it to them, not just here! Help->Report Bug, and email too. :)

I found this at the WIKI:

Functions that cause damped motion called inside attachments screw up the avatar
If a function that causes damped motion is called within an attachment, the avatar will "sink" to about knee-level below the ground/prim-based platform until the avatar teleports, relogs, or sits on an object. In this sunken state, the avatar looks as if its legs are broken.

'course, I'm not wearing any motion scripts at all, of any kind, and my knees break too.
