Lessee... I've noticed a few problems that don't ALWAYS crash SL, I'll be reformatting my computer tonight (I hope, and PRAY that's all it needs), and I'll see if we get the same problems.

- Changing an object type from ANYTHING to a Torus if the object has cut/sheared.
- Selecting a texture face on linked object.
- Opening the Texture Picker.
- Trying a search in Texture Picker
- Doing anything with Texture Editing.
- Trying to pan around different avatars

I'm rocking the following PC specs...
533mhz Intellicious Celeron
288mb RAM (one 256 and a 32mb RAM)
20gb HD, old.
GeForce2 64mb PCI card.
Intel Motherboard without an AGP slot.
.... so it's entirely possible it's my stupid machine.

Maaaan... the fact you can even log on is absolutly amazing. a 533 Celron.. a Celron of any flavor is generally too wimpy to run SL worth beans, A Celron running below minimum requirements is unbelievable... a 1533 Celron will barely run SL

The Geoforce2 card is bare minimum, PCI is even weaker

288 meg memory is gonna be just enough to run SL, not enough for it to run well though.

Every symptom you have can be directly related to running out of video and texture memory or not having enough video and CPU horsepower. A torus is killer on the rendering system and even new, fast machines will crawl if there are a few on the screen.

I'd count my blessings that you can even get on SL at all.

Yes. It shouldn't be working at all. I shouldn't be able to even boot Windows XP Pro.
But, my LEET SKILLS PREVAIL!

Yeah, the little bugger prolly should be wiped and used as a Linux tinker box and I should save up to buy a 'real computer' (BTW, I'd like to send a big fuck you to everyone that tells me to get a 'real computer', when your 'real computer' takes an hours to load with all the crap your infested with)

Like alot of other things in life, I'm working on it.

Well, I have XP Pro on a 366 P2 laptop with 256 memory. It runs ok. It took 46 hours to do 1 Einsien@home work unit, my 4400+ X2 AMD does 2 in 6 hours. Just a point of comparason.

All, I can say is if it does what you need it to, then there is no problem as far as I am concerned. On the other hand, you are having problems, most all stemming from a machine that doesn't meet minimum requirements.
