i've noticed that there is a Wiki entry for something similar. and recall ppl mentioning issues with cameras and wanting them locked during building (although i don't know what their reasons were; perhaps the issue i'm describing here). but irritated enought to now be curious if anyone else if having this issue: my camera jumps anytime i'm zoomed in to an object and attempt to operate on it using the xyz axes. it's not just Scale. it's Move and Rotate as well. any time i'm too close (presumably as far out as possible but still close enough to see the change i need), and i interact with the axes, my camera "hiccups". often i wind up "inside" the object and can't see anything. it wasn't always this way, but i'm not sure which build of 1.6 started it for me since i've only recently gotten back to building. however, this is one irritating issue for me while modeling something in the current SL build.

(p.s. - i've checked to ensure that my cursor is NOT on the grid scale when this occurs.)

Only notice it when I'm zoomed in real close to really small objects such as jewlrey etc. When I try to move it, my camera jumps way past the object and into the ground.. Setting focus helps a lil though.

Yes, this is one of the more annoying bugs in recent memory. I know that the Lindens are aware of it, but I don't know why they haven't fixed it.

For now, there is a work around. If you use the numbers to move your object, the camera doesn't freak out. It only seems to react when you touch the manupulator tool. It's not as fast to use numbers than it is to just drag something, obviously, but it is stable.
