I signed in tonight, and I have no hair, and no shoes, and all I get is error messaged trying to reattach them. I have a hat and a skirt on, all other prims won't rez.

I really wish they would quit with trying to make everything too fancy, and just for ONCE, fix what's already broken. SL keeps getting worse. If they want to keep making our inworld experience tougher, then offer a refund (I know, hell will freeze over before that happens, and probably before they decide to fix things... if they even read this).
Just had to vent Stitcher
PS read the announcements: Having problems connecting to Second Life right after a version update? Look here.
1) When are you logging in? Check the Announcements section of the forums. If you're logging in within about three hours of the grid's opening, you will invariably run into login issues.
For some odd reason, I don't think setting up to have music in SL is going to fix my hair. That's what is on the blog
I've relogged in 3 times now. No hair, or shoes, guess I'll go play slingo or something else... something that works.

Yep. More asset server problems tonight.
Aside from going off and playing in RL, there's not a lot you can do except wait them out.
This really don't have much to do with them making things 'fancy'.

Yeah, I logged on 40 minutes after LL stated they had "resolved" the issue.
One hour later, I'm still on, no shape and no clothing. My prims attach on and off just fine.
Nothing helps. Logging on/off, rebaking textures, teleporting, waiting, trying to edit appearance. Nothing.
One hour and still no shape or clothing has loaded and I can't change until they do.

Second Life is the most unstable platform I've ever seen. The last two pages on the Grid Status Reports page, 20 entries, are just for May alone. It's only the 12th, people! More problems than days, sheesh.
It seems like I can never just go on and enjoy it, I'm constantly plagued by bugs. We're supposed to just accept failed transactions and items disappearing. I have to keep handing out replacements items for lost sales just because Linden Labs can't get their act together. It's impossible to rely on it for anything serious.

no because in the TOS it says they are not responsible for it it is rediculous if a game like WoW did this, they would be issuing credits for lost time yet a game that is much more expensive to play and enjoy *yes i know that it is optional* does nothing to satisfy their residents i mean we create the game!!!

Of course. I wake up and grab some tea to sit down and see SL having the SAME issue as always lately. All I know is I have spent over 5k US money in this and yes I have profit from it but NOT from SL, from my business partner in SL. We all deserve credit for every single outage or whatever is going on behind the scenes. But honestly we are all humans who work for our money and we ALL deserve some sort of credit for when these sort of problems occur. You all make enough money to credit your residents. We spend money we deserve to get something in return. Even though this post will mean nothing at all. I am sitting here just waking up to this same issue. You all make so much money why dont you get some decent equipment? Get the best there is. You all can surely afford it. I myself love SL but seriously. This has to stop and you all should stop worrying about windlight etc and focus on your servers making them stable. No other only virtual "game" etc does this. It's obvious we been dealing with this issue. BUt in time... members will start to fade. Not ranting but purely making a point not just for me but all of SL. *Shrugs and goes on a bikeride*

Will, Frankly speaking you are 100% correct..............There is nolonger any human relation Linden that has consideration anymore. We are mainly alone these days. What we might have created they lay claim to. If there is any beakage they have not liabilty, but we have to pay every...............reguardless if their service is up or down. Fair......will.No but then again their baly maintained harware, and bad PR doesnt spell will with many long time users..........

Honestly

I love SL and it's a great escape. The forums are not even spoken in anymore. People are slowing not caring and giving up. It's a simple issue they are having that can be solved with purchasing better equipment. Honestly LINDEN if you get better equipment and there are no crashes you have no clue how happy it would make the residents that make SL. I myself have ran a game server in which i created. I ran that from my home with over hundreds and such a day. My simple ISP was able to handle that. For 4 years. I built this game also. I am quite confused on these issues seeing as how i myself hosted a server for many years. Built and provided and I can say one thing. The only thing that made me happy was seeing others play. I did all this for free.*Smiles*
P.S. I run a 30k traffic area and all of my items were brought back into my inventory. I was told by Linden. "We cannot help you" I pay over 100 a month plus what i spend reguarly. Give me a break. Us spending money and even us NOT spending money deserve something. And i wanted was a simple rollback. I deserve that for losing over 100k in items. *Shrugs* well, time to watch 300.
Should really hire me as a mentor with all the experience I have in virtual games. Built and ran. *Snickers*
Also thank you Usaqi.

Those that have been around Sl for a long time undersand how bad things have become. Given up? well i lost many many friends since I first came in the game Oct 2004.......But many are still here. Why ? because of their passion for SL.....I dislike all the BS as they say LLABS have done to the game and the lack of support as well......Oh i have said my share of ******** in my days. But Look i am still here? Why because i want to be. RL still comes first but when I am on sl i enjoy it to the max. In many ways i have no reason to ***** these days because I done many many thing within the game and i enjoyed it. But Times chance, Lindens changes, he lag and crashes stay the same. Whinning crying, ***** etc whatever you want to call it doesnt do any good these days. The game is a mess the leadership is s mess..............But what are we going to do? I pay for the game, I given hours and years of my play to to help others......Unlike the professional complainers and problems makers I myselve have a real Life and I enjoy my SL. Those that don`t pay for the game, have very little to say in their harsh words about LL. I don`t see them trying to make the game better. All many see of these types are nothing more then people that need complain for the sake of doing so.If they have the energy and time in RL to waste then the more power to them. Other then that take what is given when the game is running good. Life is short, and so is SL..........

Through it all we wait and have patience as much as we can. The ones who put as much effort as they can. So, I suppose we keep dealing and having patience or leave. I however... will stay as usual. But, there main focus needs to be "get better equipment"

Again your 100% correct........Patients is important if people don`t have them in Rl should we expect them to have them on SL? Frankly speaking no.....Hence the haters, trolls, etc........They have nothitng better to do then cause problems. Some said said a few months ago ( indeed the smartest wisest remark I heard inthe forum in my almost 4 years ) "If Sl was the single most important event occuring in my Life i cause see their trolls, haters, and outright lowlife remarks"......But I can`t understand them because my RL is full and complete. Oh i should include thost that spend 10,000.00 Real Monies a month that have the right the complaine ( they have the right to ask for more ). But those the pay nothing give nothing have no right to say anything. Since they don`t pay for a single or give any time in helping others on sl..........

For those wanting refunds for downtime:
You pay a monthly fee for access to the game with the option of owning land... Think of this fee as not just an expense for your entertainment, but also including updates, fixes, and special attention by game developers. This extra effort ensures that when you log back on the land you pay for will still be there.
Land after all, is for buying and selling, and you can easily make your monthly fee back in profits from re-selling land; this isn't affected by grid downtime. If you don't like paying the fee then don't, you can downgrade to a free account y'know.
High Traffic/High Profit, Downtime = High Loss:
You'll be back up in a day or so and back to making the big bucks at the same rate. Popularity is only as good as service and quality. How well you manage inventory issues will determine whether customers keep returning, so why not draft up a contingency plan for what you can do to minimise disruption when things like this happen? It'll give you something to do and will help your business in the long run.
For those of you who feel impatient:
Go download PlaneScape, play it for 3 days. Come back to Second Life. Find out what an MMORPG is like when only a handful of people take care of development and maintenance "in their spare time". I know that deep down you all appreciate the work SL developers do, but I still suggest you *try* playing PlaneScape for no other reason than you'll appreciate SL so much more.

Being socially challenged, I really do enjoy SL, but lately it has been frustrating. I know that Lindens aren't going to bother with a peon like me. Their main concern is the person paying the highets bucks.
I do have a store (Paja in Plush Mega), but I'm not making big bucks. I don't even make enough to pay the land tiers. I keep plugging along though, because it keeps my mind busy, I have learned so much about Photoshop.
What I learn, I must thank the citizens, and not Lindens. When I've really needed help with something, I can always count on another citizen to help me out... not Lindens.
So... I just thought I should say THANK YOU TO ALL THE HELPFUL CITIZENS OF SL - may the Lindens take notice and learn from you!

Well now.....If you were to have the inclination of maybe running that game again.......
I mean....FREE is a price I can afford! LOL! Seriously, though.....If SL had some competition, it just might help things around here. I like the concept of being able to socialize and create things (even though I'm not especially good at it) and even to go shopping (my middle name. LOL!)!
But even though I haven't been a member for very long, I'm seeing things get worse as well. It's such a shame, too. I really LIKE SL......when it works. *sigh*
