I am having trouble with my new Gateway tablet and SL - they don't seem to want to work together (to put it lightly). I understand the there is/was a compatability problem with Windows Vista and SL.

Has this problem been fixed? I see some discussion going back to February but do not see if a solution has been offered. Any help would be appreciated.

With the newest drivers for video and sound installed, SL and Vista do better together. Sounds like you need the latest drivers from Gateway and/or from the component manufactureres for your Tablet. that work with Vista.

Strange, I am using a Gateway laptop with Vista and have not had a bit of trouble with SL.

I know it doesn't help you, but just saying :)

Video Card?

Normally the problem is related to the video card and not Vista itself. I have Vista along with an nVidia card and it works great.

Likely the Intel 935 video chip is the culprit. Turn off everything in Vista like aeroglass, animations etc and try it. SL is a graphics heavy hitter and the Intel is THE BOTTOM of the video barrel and unsupported by SL. If you have an ATI based chip... the Vista drivers have not been supporting OpenGL games like SL or something to that effect.
