Freeze and crash

Hi,

My PC keeps freezing up or/and crash when I am in the game. I have checked the videocard etc etc, so nothing is wrong with my PC! I also have friends with simular problems.

Seams to happen mostly when I am build/edit mode and getting something out of the inventory.

Im having a similar issue with uploading (anything) and I've even put my pref settings at minimum, plus yesterday i already updated and upgraded my memory on my drives as well as made sure the graphics card was not conflicting.

I can understand the "dust settling' after an upgrade or two, but seems we get clobbered with mountains and boulders all at once in early upgrade period

I'm having issues as well. I know that I have to upgrade my via chip. But when I went under the download site in Second Life to click on the link that says via chip it the site didn't show up.

Everytime I go into SL and I want to start walking my avatar freezes up right away. I am so frustrated with this. This shouldn't be happening. I payed my one year fee. This is so unfair. I wish at least that something can be easy instead of us trying to figure out what the hell to do to fix the problem. I'm even having second thoughts of renewing my residency in SL.

I am haveing my game freeze every time i try to play one of them large video screens....???

I know where every here coming from as since the last set of updates I've had terrible problems with crashing at one point every 20 minutes!

I've followed all the Linden's suggestions of update drivers etc now I cannot really test if they work as lag is a killer. I've even changed from a ATI to Nvidia card in the hope that'll solve my problems.

At the moment the only safe thing I can do is sit somewhere in a quiet sim and lucky I can talk to someone in IM.

Frankly I wish the Lindens would actually listern to their customers as these crash problems are a little more than graphic card and just lag problems.

This continous blaming by the Lindens that customer machines are always at fault is starting to ware thin. Second Life should of been written in the first place to work at the minmum specification and this thing of getting things looking good should come second until Second Life is stable!

All I can say to Lindens is start to really do something about the problems and stop fobbing everyone off! Take some responcibility and do something because from where I'm standing it looks as if your ignoring customers and hoping the problems will go away!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the rant but I'm very angry at the moment with the Lindens!!!!!!

I crashed in a building contest two times, while on a build after trying to use the shift,ctrl, arrow keys, its just locks up. I did notice on the textures, that when it is downloading a custom texture, that is when it just plain stops loading. I didn't have these problems before and some of my other builders buddies are experecing the same at the sandboxes.

I've had a similar problem since the most recent update. I've sent several crash reports just in the last couple of days. >.<

I have posted about this already..but hell I'm posting again its a nightmare!

I cannot do anything in SL, I have turned everything down, checked all my drivers uninstalled and reinstalled sl 3 times since the upgrade, checked for viruses and spyware. I have nothing running in the background, I have defragged, I have cleaned up my disk, I have cleaned up my desk top and tool bars...they are empty!. I have checked my router and IP settings. Hell I even vacuumed the damn thing to make sure its not getting hot!

However despite my best efforts I still have sl freeze, then it locks up my whole system and I must cold reboot.

Just for a clearer picture of wat has been happening..here is an example. This morning I logged in.. waited for the cache to settle for 20 mins then decided to tp a friend to me..mistake! I got the freeze/lock up problem. The after trying to get back in three times with the same freeze/lock up problem occuring on sl login, I cleared my cache. This let me in. Then after another 10 mins I was tp'd to another location..guess what freeze/lock up again! So after I managed to get back in after 6 attempts and getting the freeze/lock up each time, I decided to take off my jacket from the pie menu. Wait for it... Yes freeze/lock up.. however this time when I tried to get back in it took 1 hr, every time freezing and locking up soon as I got in sl. It did that a total of 30 times. Yes I tried the clearing the cache trick..I tried the logging in at my home location trick.. I tried everything.

When I finally did get back in, I was fine and stable and able to change clothes. I was even able to sit and chat for a while maybe 45 mins in total, then I stood up and went to walk and guess what..FREEZE/LOCKUP!!!!! This has been the scenario pretty much every day since the upgrade. Its not one particular thing..its doing anything! However I have noticed its to do with accesing inventory, tping, and also editing appearance..they most reliably recreate the problem. I can build fine if I can manage to stay in sl long enough.

When will sl address this problem..who knows! Can you contact them on their support number..NO. Will Live help, help you.. umm well they listen politely and then say..did you try reinstalling? oh well I dont know whats causing that..call our support number.

I have been playing over a year now..and never had this problem..yes its always nerfed after upgrade, yes I am patient and realise the first week is alway a bit rocky afterward.
However, I run a couple of businesses and pay for land and really its not getting better..AT ALL. My business is suffering cause I cant be there long enough to attend my customers, this will mean my home goes next.

Please can someone suggest something or jump up and down on a linden technician till they give us an answer?
