Hi
Since the 1.7 version came out, i couldn't even laugh the client. It simply exits without any error message after showing for 0.5 seconds a little "Loading Second Life..." box. The win_crash_logger.exe reports a crash but crashes itself with a windows crash box...
I have winxp on amd sempron 2200+ with Radeon 9550 with last catalyst drivers. Motherboard is ASRock K7VT4A+ (VIA KT400A), sound card Creative Blaster Live! 5.1. Do i need something else? service packs? not catalyst drivers?

If the crash logger itself crash, I'd recommend starting with an uninstall/reinstall of Second Life (if you haven't done so already). I don't see any crash logs I can reference, probably for this reason.
If you have XP, make sure Service Pack 2 is installed. Among other things, it upgrades many of your non-graphics system drivers to much more compatible versions.

Same for me except it doesn't report any crashes. If however I try to start up the crash logger it does crash. I run a swedish Windows XP Pro fully updated. As are my graphic drivers. Uninstalling/reinstalling didn't help but I know a fix will come one day so in the meantime I'll just say "Keep up the good work, Lindens". =^.^=
