http://blog.secondlife.com/2006/11/06/getting-technical-auto-return-time-increase). This sort of response is far more frustrating than receiving no response at all.
So far I've contacted one of the creators of the items that have disappeared ~ Eva Virgo. Eva was kind enough to offer to replace the missing items and requested a notecard showing the transactions. I suppose she hasn't been online lately as she hasn't responded to any of my IM's or accepted the notecard since her offer. As it stands my new virtual home is still barren of virtual furniture.
Still needing furniture, last night I dropped another $3500 L and purchased a new house and furniture from Scorpio Galatea (do check out his stuff ~ simply fabulous!) I didn't expect to lose any inventory this time around as I wasn't going to do anything that I hasn't worked in the past, but recent 'upgrades' seem to be the problem with my missing inventory (which has now increased by another 12 - 15 pieces as of this morning.)
According to the kb regarding coalesce(which support keeps directing me to) SL's new coalesce feature will combine several items into one when being returned/moved to your inventory. I'm not sure what the benefit of it is ~ but over the past week I've become painfully aware of what the drawback is. I selected several items from the newly purchased box to move to my inventory in one shot (as I've done in the past with success, prior to recent upgrades). I did this three times. Three items made it to my inventory, instead of the the 12-15 that were selected. Now, if the coalesce feature *worked* I should be able to pull these three items from my inventory to my parcel and *viola* all of the items would rez. Nope. No such luck. I am now out another good bit of USD/$L due to SL's "improvements".

[4:16] Mor McLeod: Dear Sl, your coalesce feature has screwed up my inventory. I purchased a 3500 L box of furniture last night. It has over 30 pieces of furniture in it. While moving the furniture from the box to my inventory I selected 4-5 pieces at a time...only one showed in my inentory with each move. I pulled the single items that showed in my inventory hoping that the other items were tucked away with them, but they were not (only single items as they appeared in my inventory). I am now missing quite a bit of furniture. Please restore my inventory or my linden. This is the THIRD time I've lost stuff in SL recently I am out over $25 USD. I have spent over 431
[4:16] Mor McLeod: USD in this game over the past 30 days
[4:16] Hermia Linden: Hello
[4:16] Mor McLeod: Hi =)
[4:16] Hermia Linden: Sorry to hear that.
[4:17] Mor McLeod: Me too...it's getting rather frustrating ;-p
[4:17] Hermia Linden: if things have gone from inventory you'll need to send in a Bug Report from the Tools menu as soon as you can
[4:17] Mor McLeod: K. So there isn't anything that can be done to fix my inventory, then?
[4:19] Hermia Linden: Well, presumably you saw these articles? http://secondlife.com/app/help/guides/lostinv.php and http://secondlife.com/knowledgebase/article.php?id=292
[4:20] Mor McLeod: Yes...the last time something like this happened support sent me those links. I tried those steps already with no luck. It's only been happening the past two viewer upgrades.
[4:21] Hermia Linden: There isn't anything more we can do for you in-world unfortunately. The techs will investigate for you if you send in a report but you need to do that within a week of it happening.
[4:22] Mor McLeod: I sent the last report immediately. I'm writing up the report for this incident now
[4:23] Hermia Linden: Ok. I do hope it works ou tfor you. I know some things are lost irretrievably some times but if you can give places and times it does help.
[4:23] Mor McLeod: Thanks =)
[4:24] Hermia Linden:
)[4:28] Mor McLeod: I've submitted teh bug...how long does it take for a response, and do I need to stay online until somebody responds?
[4:29] Hermia Linden: There's no need to hold th ewindow open as it will be in the techs' hands. The office doesn;t open for another 4 hours or so though
[4:30] Mor McLeod: Ah that's right ~ Pacific time! Thanks for you help...I've got my fingers crossed ;-p
The bug report:
Steps to reproduce the bug: I purchased Japanese House Furniture Pack containing over 30 pcs of furniture. To save time I selected several items at once from the box and dragged them to my inventory. I did this 3 times. I noticed only 3 items showed in my inventory.
Observed results: Instead of multiple items being moved to my inventory three times, three single items were moved to my inventory. The other items were not in the box or in my inventory. Being aware of the coalesce feature I pulled the items out of my inventory onto my parcel (which has over 1500 prim left available). Only the single items appeared, with no other inventory 'inside'.
Expected results: I expected the 12 - 15 addtional items selected to be moved to show up in my inventory when I moved them or at the very least still show in the box. I have moved multiple items in the past in this manner without an issue.

My plea to the content creator:
[4:09] Mor McLeod: Hello - I just bought your japanese style house and japanese style furniture last night. The house is fabulous. I ran into a problem while unloading the furniture however. I moved 4-5 pieces out of the box into my inventory at a time - only one item showed up in my inventory. I thought this may be due to SL's new coalesce feature so I pulled the items onto my land hoping this would rez the missing items ~ no such luck. I am now missing approximately 10 - 12 pieces out of the furniture set. Is there any way you would be willing to replace the missing items? It would be the items from the first listed to the Chinese Ar Zodiac Rat & Dragon with the exception of Victory at sea victory on eather & black horse shogun? Thanks =)

I've also submitted a support request to SL through the email interface, assuming the bug report will receive no response (since the response states just that).
Also, the Knowledge Base for the Coalesce Feature stated bugs for returned items not showing in inventory should be reported directly to Kona Linden: [5:11] Mor McLeod: Hello Kona. I have a bug to report with the coalesce feature. This does not involve 'returned' inventory, rather inventory moved from an object to inventory. It has been reproduced successfully (though not on purpose). See this RT:583744. The original RT is 576483. I really hope you can figure this one out...especially if it means me getting my stuff back

I'm curious to know how many other SL residents experience this problem. If so, do you know of a work around, fix or specific party I should contact?
