Today a friend of mine rezzed her ZHAO (an animation over-ride device) on the ground to remove an animation. Then the sim crashed.

Upon returning the ZHAO was gone. We couldn't find it with drag-selecting, and a live-helper who came out couldn't detect it with her scan tool (not that I expected a scan tool to help, given there were more than 16 objects nearby, but at least she tried). The item was not returned to her inventory, even though the land was set to 5-minute return (and a test object got returned correctly)

She's contacted support with the time, place and details of the lost item but what are the chances of her getting it back? The ZHAO itself can be easily replaced, but it contained a full override set from Torrid which, to her, is worth a lot of money.

Your best bet is to contact the merchant in most cases - some are quite generous in such situations.

I have seen objects appear in lost+found up to 24 hours after going off-world, but that is rare. Unless some long standing policy has changed recently, you will likely not get replacement from LL support.

Good luck.

Thanks, even if all you have is bad news. :-) Looks like we'll be waiting for confirmation support can't help and then hoping Torrid Midnight is feeling helpful.

Happy days! The item returned! So either support did fix it, or some sort of trash-collection found it.
