Invisible AV, Shape/Clothing download bug after update

It's been almost two days now since the update and I'm still invisible on my screen. My trouble ticket has gone unanswered, and I'm not seeing much in the official blog from the bug-chasers on this problem. Before I despair completely and kill myself, has anyone else had luck getting this problem resolved?

No, it's not noobie Invisible Av Syndrome. My settings and drivers are fine. In fact a friend has logged in from here, on both machines I have, and has no problem.

The Downloading Clothing (and shape) process apparently never completes. I cannot wear normal clothing due to the error message "Can't change appearance until clothing and shape are loaded" and the Edit Appearance menu selection is disabled. I have no name tag, and can only be seen by the prims I have on. Unfortunatey, I was naked when the problem first manifested (I was okay for a couple hours right after the update), and now can't go out in public. While I don' see anything but hair and other prim objects, others see me as naked. In addition, on those other screens, my face is not my own face; I'm probalby Ruth.

I have great patience for developers, and usually shrug off the kinds of bugs we've all come to know and love. But, in this case, due to the lack of response or information on this issue (which I'm sure does not affect me alone), and the fact that I've invested several hundred dollars, and so much heart and soul, into my life here over my three-month existence, I'm beginning to despair.

I'm rarely satisfied that there's nothing *I* can do. But there's nothing *I* can do. Unless someone out there has hit upon The Answer. Anyone?

If you have another avatar to wear in your inventory, do this. Open your inventory, open the other avatar folder and let the items load. Then right click the folder and select "replace outfit" let it load and that should fix the problem.

Gin!!! You're my hero! It worked. Thank you SOO much.

(Two Lindens in Live Help didn't think of it, and I certainly didn't either, so you get huge HUGS and kudos.)
