I'm thinking about upgrading my video card and I'm looking for a little input.

I'm currently running: nVidia GeForce4 MX Integrated GPU
I'm thinking about upgrading to an nVidia GeForce 6200 AGP.

I don't want to spend more than $150, since I'll be upgrading 2 machines. Any thoughts?

The 6200 is not terribly better than what you have now. It was originally designed as a low end PCI-e card that is supposed to be about the same as an Nvidia 5700 (reviewers say a lot less) but they figured they could sell some AGP versions since people are generally confused about card numbering and can sell a $50 card for $100. You can pick up a 6600 GT online for about $120 and get a very good card that will smoke that 6200. Thing is, you need to make sure your motherboard is set up for an 8x AGP slot, otherwise you will likely be wasting your money. The upgraded card will likely work but a 4x slot will hobble the card badly and not improve your experience much.

If you have that 2x-4x slot, you would be better off buying or aquiring a cast off used Nvidia 5xxx series card rather than any 8x card available today.

i got a geforce 6600gt agp off of newegg.com for 159$ with 2 day shipping

Nvidia recomends you have atleast 350 (real) watts to run it

i have no issues with mine running on a good 300 watt power supply, but your milage may very depending on which cpu, how many drives you have, extra cards ect ....

i think they have regular 6600's in 256mb for about the same price
