I'm guessing others have said this (but my search didn't work) so I'm saying it again: WHAT is happening to the Inventory??? I really hoped that this latest update would resolve the problems but it hasn't. Whenever I go to drag a single item into a new folder or do any kind of inventory maintenance, immediately all the folders AND items spring open so I have to scroll through thousands (literally) of items not only in my own inventory but also in the Library - where i can't put the item anyway) until I give up hope and just drop the darned thing anywhere to get out of all the folder mess. Is this really supposed to be an improvement? In Windows, there is a significant time lag between dragging onto a folder and the folder opening up - enough of a time lag to drag and drop without seeing all the files. Why can't this be the same for the SL inventory. To display all the items every time is not only overkill but I can't imagine how anybody wants it. It drives me completely MAD. I used to do serious housekeeping on the Inventory to keep all my items tidy, but even opening two panes and dragging from one to the other is now a complete nightmare. For anybody with a lot of textures, building pieces and objects, this is a major annoyance. Please DO something about it.

Hey Bonny--I'm moving this to Technical Issues for further discussion.
So, I wanted to get a better understanding: your main problem here is that a folder "springs" open too quickly when you're dragging an item over it?
The little white arrows are supposed to provide a visual cue, and I don't recall them suddenly getting faster recently... do you specifically know when you started having these problems?
Does anyone else remember the speed of expansion being a lot slow earlier?
It is pretty snappy; I'd like to hear more experiences with this.

Hi, I'm sorry I didn't see your reply earlier. Since I wrote there have been some improvements. Basically what happened was that dragging any item caused all the folders to open immediately - not just the target folder or the item's original folder, but all of them, including the library. The focus was lost, so that even the original folder was lost to focus and I was left with an item hovering in drag, but not able to find the folder to drop it into. This was about two updates back. Since then some things have improved. (I have yet to see the latest update but if the library has been moved HALLELUJAH!!) But the folders still open automatically, albeit a little slower. They used to stay closed until you clicked on their down-arrow. I preferred that. The Windows XP answer is to keep the folders closed until a dragged item hovers over the folder name for a while - then it displays the folder contents. The time delay is sufficient to allow you to pass on, or change your mind, or at least think about it a while! Cheers, Bonny

If the folders opened in their own window, like every other graphical interface file system in the world, things would be a LOT easier.
(do I have to solve *ALL* the problems here?)
