To make it short just re-install Windows and you'll see a big difference. If you happen to have Windows you're in luck otherwise it'll probably cost you around in the $40 range.
For a while I was constantly crashing. Couldn't even go to one side of my land because I would always crash. I tried defragging and just about everything else and nothing. I re-installed Windows: case solved. I haven't crashed once since then.
