I could see my text in the input line of my IM window, but when I'd hit Enter, there wouldn't be anything in the main window of the IM window.
So I asked Flyk to initiate an IM to me. Tried... but was told that I wasn't online.

 Huh?

Oh, and this was immediately after trading cards with Flyk.

I keep my chat history window open all the time. The text in it was fine... but then a few seconds after Flyk was told that I wasn't online, I started getting old text in my history. Like when BP had suggested once that I hit ctrl-H -- suddenly I was seeing that line about every 4th line. As well as all the other general chatter the 4 of us had previously said -- and I was seeing new chatter there as well.

I logged off, came here to report, and I'm about to log back in to see if it's cleared up.

after (quick) diskchecking and getting back into the game again, I coredumped again.

don't have anything running that isn't always running --- well, that's not completely accurate -- the windows updater thingy showed up in my tray a few minutes ago saying it was downloading updates, and about 76% done (I had actually started that quite a few hours ago, and thought it had finished, but I guess not?)

waiting a few more minutes to log back in, to see if it really is unrelated to SL --

event log didn't show 'nv' as the source of any recent errors (it *would* say 'nv', right?)

Had OK and Cancel buttons. Didn't go away when I clicked OK (tried several times). Hitting Cancel brought about "program termination"
I wasn't doing anything when the popup popped up -- I had stepped into the kitchen to get a drink, and when I got back here, there it was..
