For various reasons I end up changing clothes a lot in SL and lately I've been having problems getting the old clothes to "un-rez" and the new clothes to rez. For example I will take off a pair of low heeled knee boots and put on a pair of high heel sandals. My avatar will shift pose a bit for the higher heels but the now slightly distorted image of the boots is still on my feet. It has taken up to 15 minutes for the proper shoes to rez.
Is there a "trick" I can use to force SL to re-rez my outfit? The problem is worst on the feet and face.

Tess I believe changing your active group title forces some avatar things to refresh. I usually zoom in and out a lot, but that probably has more to do withu having something to do while waiting .

Edit avatar appearance. Then close immediately.

Taking off the article of clothing then putting it back on imediately. Also, as mentioned abolve, go into edit apperance mode and right back out. These two things are usually pretty good for getting clothing to rez.

From: Jack Harker Taking off the article of clothing then putting it back on imediately. this one is the most reliable I've seen.. just make sure your in a mature area in case you end up topless/bottomless whilst doing it.

They've also added a very usefule one recently to the Debug menu
Debug-->Character-->Rebake Textures
which basically FORCES your client to re-download all the clothing textures for what you are wearing, and re-asseble them for viewing properly.
