I was having gawd awful time with the prim default texture not showing and a fugly one showing up instead and a neighbor of mine had problems with it showing black and then the butt fugly one showing up. You can see by the pic what it looks like. Anyways...a possible solution was happened upon. Download the preview and rez a cube to see if you see the plywood(never thought plywood would look so sweet!!) Then go back to main grid and see if your cube rezzes with the plywood texture. If it does....sweeeeeet. They are aware of this little buggy and working on it. But this is a workaround for now.

Have you ever actually seen that avatar and dress in-world? I have visions of you coming upon her and having the urge to pull out your watermelon gun and make her PAY.........
And why do YOU---one of the most prolific builders in SL, happen to have THAT bug?

im having similar problems except sometimes the texture want to revert to "Ruth vieweing the sunset" image. I sent a bug report about it earlier

I know of about five people this has happened to now. The only workaround seems to be to go into preview and then come back onto the main grid. For some reason the preview gives you the correct textures and drags it back to the main grid. Kona came up with this workaround. Talk to him for further technical details. I guess teh bughunters are on this.

Is the "fugly" texture a greyish moire pattern?
I used to have such problems all the time, but they went away when I upgraded my video card (before, what I had wasn't even in the minimum requirements range).
*looks at the original post again, facepalms*
On the other hand, I'd get weird images replacing textures too.
