Iolo Macro Magic incompatible with SL?

I just installed Iolo Macro Magic and it appears that it causes SL to crash.

Starting the macro program causes SL to crash instantly, no error messages or anything.

Starting SL after the macro program is running causes SL to either not log in or to crash after it gets connected.

Anyone had similar problems with macro programs? Know of any that work ok with SL?

I use Keyboard Express and it crashes SL instantly after closing the application, as it does with many games I play if I forget to close it. I try not to have it running when when I login to SL, or run any other game I don't need it for. It even makes Yahoo IM crap out after a while. But that's just the nature of these macro programs since they hook in DEEP into your system. You can try running your macro app first, and then login to SL.

You really don't need a macro program for SL since the SL client already has one built in. You can program the Fkeys to do anything, just check out Gestures (r-click yourself, choose Gestures)

SL crashes after you close the application? SL or Keyboard Express? What if you don't close the application?

It seems a bit odd, the AutoIt program works at a level that allows it to intercept all sorts of low-level program functions, and can send keystrokes and mouse actions to SL or to other applications while SL is running, with no problem at all. I suppose I will have to figure out how to use it for macro programming if I want to make true system level keyboard and mouse event macros for use in SL.

It is not true that the gesture editor's abilities to enter characters into the chat channels serves the same function as or eliminates the usefulness of a standalone macro program. The gesture editor can't do things like simulate keystrokes the operate the SL menu system, and it certainly can't send keyboard and mouse events to programs outside of SL.
