Hey all, I have a problem. I just got the game and My computer exceeds the computer recommendations at least I think it does, butits slow laggish and choppy.. help. Here are my Specs

Emachines
T6212
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 processor
3200+
1.99 GHz. 384Mb of Ram

Microsoft Xp
Home Edition
Ver. 2002
Service Pack 2

The minimum specs are just what it takes to log in, as far as I know, most people run SL with at least a gig of ram etc etc and are still laggy at times, but there are some things you can do to help..

You can make sure you've got the latest versions of your drivers for your hardware. Video card especially..

Turn down your settings in Preferences (Ctrl+P) in world. Local Lighting and Shadows will really make you laggy. As well as terrain detail, turn that down.

Turn off other programs. Having MSN or Yahoo open badly effects SL for me, so things like chat programs, virus checkers etc, try turning them off and see if it helps if you haven't already..

Thx I tried all your suggestions but none worked, I fiddeled around with my sl preferences and I turned off the option wich said it made it faster and now it works.. Little weird but ok.

Can you identify your graphics card? It's the most important part of the equation, and I don't see it in your list. See:
