As part of the new installer process, the Second Life executable has changed from "newview.exe" to "SecondLife.exe".
What's this mean?
There are two big things I've noticed so far:
1) Anyone using firewall software is going to detect Second Life 1.6 as a brand-new program, and will have to set SL up as a trusted or excluded program, even if they did so before for 1.5.
2) Anyone using a custom shortcut (such as multiple computers behind one router) will have to update the shortcuts they use to log in.

Thanks for the heads-up, Lee. This also means I will have to change some of my macro automation to reflect the new name of the executable...

Wow. I can't believe you guys changed the name of the exe! It's been named newview for as long as I can remember. I remember my first night in SL, I looked in the SecondLife folder, and thought "What an odd name for the file name".

Perhaps since newview.exe wasn't good enough we can upgrade to newerview.exe
If that's not enough and can't handle the load we should consider upgrading to newestview.exe
