Hey there,

i am quite new to SL and wonder how it would be possible to accelerate the downloading of graphic tiles when visiting new zones etc. I mean...i go onto someones zone and have to wait ages 'til the graphics are shown and another ages since the textures are shown in the set resolution.

Already opened bandwith to 500 (my conn is DSL 6k / 650kbs)
PC running at 3.06 GHz and i own an ATI 850 Pro with Catalyst 5.12. Rsolution is 1280x1024.

Any Hints / Tips to make it "smoother"?

Thanks in advance,
Anna

not really, SL wont really do much for internet speeds over 1mbit, only thing i can think of is not move your camera , :P now thats not much of a help

Even if you have a area in cache / rendering in SL is...very very slow m and when goes gray and then you have to render it again -.-

For some reason SL support vid card memory 512, but i never seen it use close to 256 even, not to sure if they put it all in vidram or in memory tho.

Grayness, slowness, known issue for last updates -.- trust me it was alot worse

With that 6K wide broadband pipe, there is no reason you can't open your network speed up to max and see if you have any problems with lost packets. I have a 4K connection and max works fine. You have a good system and should play SL well. Take note most everyone is having slow downloading of some textures and they are working on the problem.
