HELLO!! My name is Joey Williamson and I own DWA Nite Club, Tringo & Market in the GRINDLEWALD SIM and for the past TWO months now I have had a serious issue with a HOURLY lag spike, the first time it started it was at 1 minute after EVERY hour. It hits and for 4-5 minutes the SIM FPS drops to 1 or 2 and EVERYONE is literally frozen for that time. It is VERY consistant you could set your watch by it but over time it does seem to move, right now for the last 10 days it has been hitting at exactly 46 after the hour and lasts till about 50 after. the rest of the time each hour my SIM FPS runs around 50-75 and all is well but for 4 minutes EVERY hour no matter what rtime of day, no matter what is going on, no matter if there is 1 person here or 40 people here, nothing changes it, it ALWAYS hits. The ONLY thing that seems to help is resetting the SIM, whenever I have had a SIM CRASH or got a RESET from a Linden it seems to help for almost 24 hours, it's almost like whatever is causing this problem needs time to build itself back up. I have had NUMEROUS bug reports filed, I have spoke with Blue, Brent, Lee, Altruima and a couple others about this issue, BLUE, BRENT and ALTRUIMA have all witnessed the SPIKE first hand. Blue has been here during it on two different occassions and so has Brent and Altruima was here tonite and witnessed it below is our conversation, perhaps that might help as well

I have deleted many items to try and help myself with this issue, Lee pointed out a lighting system that was nearly 15% of memort being used I think is how he defined it and I deleted that, I also deleted ALL my casino machines which dropped the active scripts under 500 they were alil over 600 most of the time. I'm willing to work with you all and do whatever it takes to get this resolved but it has to be resolved SOON! I am one of the most popular places in SL and work very hard nearly 16 hours a day and I am losing ALOT of people to this LAG SPIKE every hour people leave when it hits and this needs to be resolved ASAP.

I don't know what else to include but if you'll tell me any info missing that could help you please let me know I am marking this post so I can keep track of it and will check daily for any updates or questions, please feel free to IM me ingame as well i am there about 16 hours each day

I'm Joey's neighbor. This lag spike thing is entirely predictable. I tell guests to brace themselves and not to give up and log out. It'd almost be funny -- the lag is so bad that, if you can move at all, you can make your av moonwalk in super-slowmo. But Joey's losing guests. And I'm tired of keeping an eye on the clock when I build to try to make sure I don't attempt to pick up anything right before the spike (cause it might just disappear forever) or edit anything that might snap back, fall apart, or disappear.

This does sound like a strange one, it sounds like an automatic function is causing this either sim side or in objects, maybe many of the same kind of vendors getting updates via email or something like that, but as there has been a lag bug with sims getting assinged to wrong machines which will be fixed with todays update, see if that makes it better, if not i'll come and have a nose around.

Sounds like the hourly save. Once per hour, the sim saves everything about everything and sends it back to the database. It does cause a load, so if the sim's pulling a 100% load or so (SimFPS at 50 or lower), performance may be decreased during the save.

I'll check the stats for the sim when it comes up, but based on the snapshots from the last few saves, it seems that the combination of content and avatars/attachments present the last few times more than 15 people have showed up, there has been too high of a load for the autosave to slip through unnoticed...
