Otherwise I'd never come up with a concept like a checkbox that says

"reconnect if login fails?" [X]

Gee! Cuz logging in just isn't working right now even after the patch. So I have to keep trying and keep trying. Why oh why can't this thing just keep retrying for me? It isn't even a set amount of time. It can be ... 15 seconds. It can be... 5 minutes. It's like a little timer sets that goes "Ok, this login will fail. Set login fail time to....... 3 minutes 42 seconds."

$10 to the first person who makes software that will act as a front-end for SL and keep trying to log in if it fails. Can you say.. auto-redial?

I wonder if the person who tries to reconnect the fastest is the one who will manage to get on. Kinda like those old internet days that some people mentioned. Sure. 10 phone lines, the guy with the fastest auto-redial is the first one to connect.

I managed to log on after about 5 trys last night during primetime US (9pm central 7pm LL time) what I didn't do was stop the process, my guess is some people get fustrated with the wait and stop the current attempt to try another and maybe that makes it worse??

They said that aborting the attempt makes it worse. Something to the effect that if you abort, your name stays in the Q even if you are not. Which means you and your two aborted attempts are trying to get in at the same time. Which theoretically could mean 100 real people are trying to log in with 200 ghost versions of themselves. Multiply further and things get complicated. Not sure if Im 100 percent positive on how this works, but I think thats the gist of it.

Thats a big issue they need to fix, you know how much time that alone would save us!
