I keep getting the following message in green text:

"Xcite! Compatible Dance Table (g) - Dance Menu System & Tip Jar: You are not in the proper group, Please step off, and activate the proper group".

I went to the only place i'd visited that might have such an object and I asked the owner if he had one. He said he did and I told him my problem. He took the object away but it still keeps sending me the same message.

Please help.

Couple things you could try.. do a stop all animations, or it almost sounds like you have something attached.. Check to see if you have something attached. like a dance hud..
I know occasionaly I get wierd massages.. But usually only once..

Good luck!!

I deteched all and stopped animations but nope I still keep getting that message. When I log off it sends me emails. When I checked my email this morning I had loads of "Message From Second Life" emails with the same message "The object 'Xcite! Compatible Dance Table (g) - Dance Menu System & Tip Jar' has sent you a message from Second Life:
You are not in the proper group, Please step off, and activate the proper group".

I have tried to contact support but as expected they didn't even bother to reply.

Ask the owner to edit the object then tools -> reset scripts in selection.
It sounds like the table/tipjar has locked up with you as the last user. Reseting the scripts should hopefully clear your key from the script.

I logged on yesterday to about 50 of those messages and another message saying that my message bank was full and being capped, that seems to have fixed the problem :)
