Database error

I have a friend who is trying to log into SL for the first time. He created an account, but when he attempts to log into either the website or the game with it, he gets "Database connection failed, please try again" errors.

I have replicated this myself using his account name and password, on my own PC where my own account is working properly.

However if you try to create a new avatar using the name he picked, it says it's unavailable. So I think his creation of the account went through, but something else is wrong - given the "database" error it seems on the SL server side?

Hi Rowena! From what you're telling me, it sounds account-specific. I'm unable to check myself, especially without more details, but your friend should contact support. Hope he'll get in--and if there's anyone else newly registered who's having the same problem, please post with the info of your experiences.
