Grid under attack again

The grid is under attack again, and as nobody is manning Live Help and the Abuse Report system is broken, I seem to have no other way to report the issue.

At least two entire regions appear to be under attack, Chicagon being one of them.

Although it may be completely unrelated, the attack on my parcel started *immediately* after ejecting a person that I found walking around my house covered in an invisiprim.

His initials are KS, and he was born on 8/31. Somehow I doubt they are related but I wanted to throw out those initials just in case....

In any case, I'm pretty pissed that this is the second day in a row that I cannot do any building

I have to admit these daily grid attacks are starting to get old.

Well, this is one of the reasons that I convinced two newly-joined friends that there was not sufficient reason to have a premium account, and even downgraded one of my own accounts to basic. Quite frankly, if I didn't need the land for a business that I am attempting (quite frustratingly attempting) to run, I'd downgrade every account in my family.

And I may end up doing that anyways if things don't improve. It's quite possible to enjoy SL without a premium account and trying to run an SL business, and I wouldn't be so frustrated about such issues I think.

It is frustrating. All can offer is that these things seem to come and go in cycles. We seem to have periods of high problems then we go for awhile fairly smoothly.

Yes, I do realize that. I am quite frustrated today, even though much of my SL time is rather enjoyable. But lately, with all that's happened, it's quite easy to lose sight of that.

By the way, the objects that are attacking are owned by Niglet Gasser, who appears to already have been banned.

Niglet Gasser, the avatar, should have their computers' IP address banned as well.

I'm tired of LL just banning avatars...only to have a new avi pop up to take its place. BAN THE COMPUTER ITSELF!!


They need to tighten the reins down on this software...pronto!

I would agree except most users don't have a static IP. Even then, so many people leave their wireless networks open, the perpetrators are probably on someone else's network to begin with.

Another problem is that people give stuff to newbies that will purposely cause problems for the Newbies and everyone around them.. without the Newbies knowing this.

People did that to me when I was New. People pretended to be Lindens and Lindens on Alts. Some people really really love to mess with Newbies.

So some cases it's not the players fault.

Connection Jacking has become popular in the past couple years.

We had our home in one of these sims... Chicagon I believe.

It's all gone now.. brushed away by a virtual hurricane... only little bricks with colored dots remain. These bricks look like self replicating scripted trash....

This is new? Mkes you think I applied 3 time for Live help and turned down.......Makes you think its who you know that gets you in........

I never can understand the reasoning for LH anyway. Why even bother having this when there is nobody around...........Its a game and those in in its suppose to be enjoyable and fun factor is suppose to be high. But the way things are run these days etc it just makes you think.

I love SL and have a blast here....and I am sure it not the Linden's fault when stuff like this happens(the self replicating b.s. and other attacks)....

But I'll tell ya..its getting to the point where its not worth coming here. I was shopping in a store when it hit..and in the time afterwards, I spent 20 minutes trying to buy one item! That should have taken 30 seconds. You cant even walk across the room, the camera controls go crazy, you cant get things to rez, SL crashes over and over. Its supposed to be fun, but after all that b.s., you walk away just being pissed off.

If someone came into a real time business and caused such destruction, they'd get arrested. I think the idiots who cause such problems here should be arrested too. I have no doubt that problems like this cause people to drop their memberships and go elsewhere, and Lindens will lose money.

If it doesnt get better around here soon, I'm going to drop out. I know its all for fun(for me anyway) but damn..to waste time sitting here waiting to just be able to walk 2 feet is ridiculous.

I agree with most of what you said Is, its gotten so terrible.

It seems like they are giving up long time players to welcome in a flood of players..but the flood offers second life what? Grief.

They need to go back to a verified account process to cut down on some of this nonsense.


They may think they are winning with the recent changes "It will pass and ppl will continue to join"..but theyre really getting destruction.


These down times are not good for players, and definitely not good for content creators; esp those who make a living off of SL.

Linden Lab has flaunted people who have made GOOD money fromhere, and have advertised the 'game' as a base to harvest in RL income. Something needs to c hange, or revert.....this game is beyond unstable and has not been enjoyable these last few days. I usually overlook things and say "Well its just been a few days itll go back to normal". But the truth is, with each update, things just get worse. For me atleast. I would love to hear from soeone who can raise their hand and say "No, updates have made this game better for me".....is there anyone out there who can say that? Im interested to know.
