Hey all, was curious if anyone else with a widescreen monitor that uses 16:10 is having this issue. Basically the issue is I see 16:9 as a ratio but not 16:10, if I try to put in 16:10 it reverts to 8:5. The display in full screen appears to be stretched slightly vertically so circles appear almost like ovals and avatars taller then normal and anorexic like Searched around before and someone suggested inputting 1.6 in the box, but that just reverts back to 8:5. Also saw a tip about the settings.xml file, but it was an old post and it seems that file doesn't exist anymore. If anyone has any input, thanks. Have a nice night.

My screen's 1280x800, which, I suppose, you could call 16:10... but 16:10 is the exact same as 8:5! SL's doing what it should. You probably ought to just set the aspect ratio to automatic... it seems to figure out even oddball ratios like 8:5 just fine.

i too run at 1680*1050 and it defautls to 8:5 even when i set it manually.
Im just going to assume they are the same thing since if you mulitply them by two, you get 16:10. The ratio seems correct as the screen doent look bunched up or streched out.

Have you tried checking the 'Run in unsupported resolution'.. as this will then adopt your systems native resolution in a window. Alternatively, try running full screen. You can also alter the UI scale, to increase your resolution. As SL is an OpenGL programme, it will only run in supported resolutions, does your monitor and GC both support those resolutions (I would assume so as your manufacturer supplied the bundle), although many assume you would be running DirectX GDI resolutions.

I have a 1680x1050 screen also. The client always autodetects to 16:9 rather than 8:5. Even if I manually choose 8:5 and uncheck the box to auto detect, it will revert back to 16:9 next time I start the client.
