I can't run SL anymore. It crashes within 5 seconds every time I try, even if I reduce all my settings to the minimum.

I didn't make any changes to my PC or anything...

Any help would be appreciated...

Hmm, it seems to be ok now...

I restarted my computer, and when I logged in to SL, I immideately flew away from where I was, which seemed to cause the problem. Maybe there was too much going on in the area at once?

It was at Lusk, there were 17 people there, and I know there is a snow particle effect generator there.

It really shouldn't have been an issue though. I have an eVga NVidia 6600GT card (128 megs DDR3 ram), brand new, 2.4Ghz P4, and a gig of DDR ram... I've also had intense stuff to process in SL before and the worst that ever happened was a massive slowdown. This time, I could see the far clipping plane rapidly approach until the whole thing crashed. It would also crash while or even before pre-cashing. (I tried to log in many times)

Arg, the problem is happening again. Is anyone else having a similar problem?

Sounds like something may be overheating or you have corrupted drivers. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling SL or your drivers? Also you wouldn't happen to know what kind of temps your GPU, CPU, and chipset is running at do you?

Trust me youre not alone, i crash randomly in SL, no idea why, usually leaving the place helps, i come back another day, no crashing.

One day im at this place constant crash all over, go back another day, zero crash, thought it was something to do with alpha/local light, ect, but noupe cant get this bug.

Clear cache sometimes help, till it done with caching and usually flops and crash again.

An interesting problem I had occurred yesterday, when I was trying to get an elevator script to work. For some reason the elevator wouldn't move, and I spent virtually the whole afternoon putting in displays which told me exactly where the programme was at each point.

Nothing worked, and I gave up. This morning I came in, tried the script, and it worked perfectly.
