Is there a way to reset the sound in the game. A friend too me up into a jet to fly me around. After crashing into the ceiling, my sound started stuttering. Gestures, sounds, streaming audio, it all stutters for the SL client. But all other programs work fine. It has not worked right since then. Do I need to reinstall? Thanks for any assistance.

This is a strange problem indeed. One I have experienced with other programs before.
My best advice would be to reinstall Second Life and update your sound drivers (if applicable).
If all else fails, looks like time for the sledgehammer....
