Okay, I'm really beginning to tear my hair out over this.

Recently, I've been having major performance problems in SL (avatar stuck in the ground, low bandwidth, high packet losses, clothes still downloading, missing avatars, etc). I've even upgraded to the latest version, and updated my graphics card drivers (nvidia geforce fx 5200 btw). But for some reason, these problems still continue to persist, and I'm loosing my mind over it. I've literally tried everything, including uninstalling, clearing the registry, everything.

Is there some way to resolve all this? Such as a specific driver for the 5200 that I use?

New graphics drivers won't help packet loss as packet loss isnt' a videocard issue. Its your network connection.

In essence you are right, all of the problems described by Smaug are being caused by lost network packets, but it isnt his network connection.

There is some bug or problem in the 1.9 client that is causing it to drop packets, WAY WAY too many people, including me, suddently started loosing network packets ONLY in SL when 1.9 was released.

I agree with that as since the 1.9.0 update I've been experiencing high packet loss which has made Second life almost mpossible to use.

The Lindens have blamed my ISP but more and more I read these forums it's coming clear that I'm not the only one suffering this packet loss and I suspect not everyone is using the same ISP.

I'm in the process of changing ISP as I suspect in my case my ISP is not helping my situation.

I'm still clear with a 0.0% packet loss rate over a 6 hour stint of SL. This past weekend was odd though since I would lag out with 10k sim ping at random, but I still didn't get any lost packets.
