Long time reader, first time writer, so be gentle..

Last Thursday, I was caught in some really bad lag. I had to log out. When I logged back in I noticed that my AO wasn't working.. and then proceeded to find out that every attachment I had on no longer works.. hugger, ao, tristen alert, xcite parts...

I contact live help about this twice, and recieved very little help. I was informed to log off, take off the attachment and put it back on, reset.. .. All these things I had tried already before giong to live help.

I was able to get replacement xcite part *thanx Javier* but can not get ahold of the seller of the AO. I have left many messages..

What I wondering is if anyone else has had this problem with attachments, or anyone with any idea why this has happened.

Another odd thing that happened the Friday after the "Lag Fried attachments" I was in Friday morning, left for work... when I returned my SL account was back to when I first started.. all my settings were back to Default and I was getting the newbie pop ups again. I have written to SL support about this but the reply didnt mention this problem at all.
I would really like to know what or who caused my SL account to be brought back to Default, like it was when I was a newbie.
Can or do SL support Staff go into ppls accounts.. and bring them back to default? If someone was trying to fix my attachment problem, that is fine but a Im or email about going into my account would have been nice...

If anyone can help me with these two things, I would greatly apreciate it

Preferences, including settings regarding the first-time "newbie" popups are stored locally on your computer - so nobody set your account "back to default".

I would guess maybe your user_settings directory was unintentionally moved or somehow corrupted and is probably unrelated to your attachment issue.

You say that you've "reset" your attachments. Did you do "Reset Scripts in Selection" or "Recompile Scripts in Selection"? Recompile sometimes helps where reset fails.
