OK
1.5.8 is up, and I keep receiving complains of customers that buy things from my vendors (Raphael Rutherford's remote vendors system) and have to wait 5/10 mins to receive the stuff they purchased.
Also, lag seems to be really worse every patch they release. At every teleport attachments take some minutes to rezz, and if sim is a little crowded often they never rezz, or you have to pray they will rezz after next tp. Lag is a major problem... we have scripting tools, but we cannot use them freely bc they cause lag, light objects cause lag, ppl cause lag... I am annoyed by this, lag is their problem, not mine, they have to solve it, not me.
Sorry saying these things, but after more than a year of unsolved problems, I am really sick.

As the lindens have said, it take a few days for all of the rebooted sims to re-cache data between them. Until that time, requests can take longer, since the data isn't localy stored yet. The closer the sim-caches get to full, the faster everything runs.
(I may be a little off in that description, but tht's the general idea as I understand it.)

Sorry saying these things, but after more than a year of unsolved problems, I am really sick. Local Lighting is a client issue. It's not on the serever at all. So are particles. Therefore, they aren't LLabs problem, they're your responsibility to turn off and on on your own computer. The Data Server always, ALWAYS is slow for about a week after a patch, because the servers have to recache everything from every user that flies through... that causes a fair amount of lag and slow bits from loading. Same for teleporting, attachments, etc. etc. Scripts don't cause lag unless you script inefficiently. LF

...we have jets but cannot fly otside a sim or we will probably crash or find ourself underground for some seconds (or forever), we have cars that it is better leave parked in the garage, I have an ATI that works fine with ALL applications and games except SL (maybe it is a SL problem?), I have a non US keyboard and this is the only place I know where it is not supported...
