Camera Controls Quit Working

I've looked around, but haven't found any evidence that this has ever been discussed before. My camera controls broke. (Camera controls being those being described here: https://secondlife.com/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=How+do+I+look+at+something+from+a+different+angle%3F)

Alt, Ctrl+Alt, Ctrl+Shift+Alt all produce the same behavior. When I do either of the 3 options I just listed, I do get the icon that I would get back when the camera controls actually worked (the square magnifying glass with a '+' in it) but my AV just follows the curson around, as if I were not invoking any camera controls at all.

I've tried clearing the cache, to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas??

Thanks very much,
Magnus

update: i should mention, the camera movement provided by the arrow keys is functioning okay. it is the mouse movements that do not work anymore. So in other words, all i can do is zoom in and out and circle around my AV.

Well if youre euro and have alt-gr use that instead (same as ctrl-alt just with 1 key),,, are you clicking on a object/other AV's and rotating?

Click on yourself it will only center on you, the cam in SL only rotate around something, you cant use a free cam and roam around.

Hi Thili, thanks very much for responding.

Yes, I have made attempts to use the camera on several AVs and objects. I was once able to view any object or AV freely and easily. Now all of a sudden it does not work! Craziness! I did upgrade my graphics card driver around the time it seemed to have quit working. Very odd though for that to produce this behavior.... and nothing else.

Also, US English KB.

You're sure that you have the corresponding keyboard type active in Windows? Windows can sometimes be grossly misinformed as to what kind of keyboard is plugged into it.

Have you tried reverting your graphics drivers to the version you were using before?

By any chance, are these new drivers the Nvidia 77.72 ones? I'm asking because I've heard of people having other, unrelated issues with them.

Yes, Windows sees my keyboard correctly. And, nothing was changed related to KB when the cam functions quit working.

To install the latest drivers, I have an ATI Radeon Mobility 9200 with the latest Catalyst drivers (those included in Catalyst 5.6) I have tried both the Omega version of these drivers and the regular ATI Catalyst version with the DH ModTool hack (to allow installtion of the drivers with my Mobility card). Both produce the same effects described in previous posts.
