Hi all! I'm hoping a network guru or Linden out there can help little 'ol me, I can't log in any more with the latest version of SL. :(

I have a proxy tunneling solution all set up (using proxycap/winsocks - http://proxylabs.netwu.com/) because my work blocks all ports above 1024. Everything was working fine in SL for *months* until this last update, and now I can't get past the "verifying protocol version" screen.

I have a socks5 server set up outside my firewall which my proxycap software connects to, by tunneling all of SL through port 81 (which is available) out to the server and then over here to SL -- which, like I said, has been working perfectly since like April!

I checked all my other settings and tried using my socks5 proxy with other software like my browser or another game and everything works fine. So it's just gotta be SL... but what??? I have no idea... :(

I totally agree with other other posters that if Linden Labs would simply implement a full proxy solution instead of just the fake one there, that fully ran all requests out through the port you enter in Preferences, then everything would be working perfectly for all!

help help! I want back in! I'm having SL withdrawl! :( Any smart people out there? OMG I'll pay a resident a crapload of Lindens if you can help me...
