Any help would be nice

Today Ive been having a really hard time getting in world, and when I have been able to on occassion, I cant move or chat, but I can IM. Sometimes when I get in world, I can move, but once I do, I keep moving without controlling myself to move. This has never happened, and any help you can give me would be appreciated.

I am not the right person to help you but since no one is responding I would suggest the following:

- No one can help you troubleshoot the problem just by hearing that description which could be summed up by saying "I crash when I try to move." That's not very descriptive or helpful.

- You need to include what kind of hardware/software you are using and more importantly how your setup *differs* from the last time you successfully accessed SL.

- There *has* to be something different and it is that difference that is the key. SL hasn't changed and other people are not crashing, so it has to be something on your end that is different.

- Try looking at other programs on your computer. If you can successfully browse the web for any length of time, then its not your internet connection being dropped for instance.

- You are better off asking Live Help the next time you get in and *not* moving (you will crash remember?)

- If you cant get in at all, you are better off phoning LL or emailing them directly from outside the game.

What if his settings - like mine - does not differ, and the problem just came from out of nowhere.



In my case - and I'm having the exact same issue - it really does look like its the internet connection going off for a few seconds and then returning, but SL doesn't know it was gone or is back for that matter, freezes up but IM is working. Weird huh.
However it is NOT the internet going off for a few seconds. Not for me anyway. We've had logs running in the backround to monitor what causes it. And at no point were the network down - there were not even errors in Windows, the server or in the router.

Benjamin, when it does this and you relog to fix it, will it sometimes hang on "Verifying protocol" cause it does that for me. And the only fix is either waiting 15 mins with relogging or cutting the power to the router.

This would indicate a problem with either my router or cmputer right? Well there seems to be NOTHING wrong. As I've posted in another thread, we've gone thru everything it seems - except for reinstalling the computer that is.

Livehelp said to me it had to be my router or my computer and that they couldn't help... next time I think I will just contact a Linden inworld - seeing as phoning LL will only do me one thing - cost me a fortune. (Oh the joy of being european )

Benjamin, I'm curious tho... will this "freezing" also happen to you after having been inthere for a while sometimes? Does to me.

Bella - so sick of unexplained problems.

Ps. if this didn't come thru allright, my settings and specs should be allright and SL has always been running without problems.
