Can't take snapshots anymore

I have a problem, when I take snapshots I crash and sometimes when I zoom in on something. I don't have my local lighting on anymore because it slows me way down now. I cleared cache, that didn't help.

Right now I have
XFX GeForce FX 5500 / 256MB DDR / AGP 8X / VGA / DVI / TV Out / Video Card
QWindows XP
1.54 GHz, 1.00 GB RAM

If anyone can help me Id appreciate it :)

Do you have High-Rez snapshot on (in debug)? Sometimes that crashes me..
