strange connection problem

I'm encountering a very strange problem which I really hope is fixable.

I conect to the net via a wireless router which is in my front room. When i'm sitting beside it I can connect to SL and all is fine. If I move laptop while still connected to SL through to my bedroom all is fine till about 10 minutes later when my connection just drops so SL quits. Try to connect to SL again and you can physically watch the connection dying.

Anyone any ideas whats going on?

I'm pretty much bedbound and this is going to be a real pain if I cant work it out.

I just spoke to a computer friend of mine about this and this is what he said to do.
